ESSI2.2 – Advanced Workflow Strategies in High-Performance Computing for Earth Sciences
EGU 2024 Session ID: 47981 – https://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU24/session/47981 Abstract Submission Deadline: Wednesday, 10 January 2024, 13:00 CET
Workflow methodologies and systems are fundamental tools for scientific experimentation, especially when they require complex computational systems such as distributed or high-performance computing. These tools are critical to meet the standards of reproducibility and provenance of results, as well as to improve scientific productivity.
Already indispensable in many situations, such as operational forecasting systems, these tools have become essential with the advent of the digital twins in Earth Sciences and the increased need to build more complex, automatic, portable, and interactive systems.
This session discusses the latest advances in workflow techniques for Earth Sciences, sharing the progress of various initiatives that improve different aspects of these technologies, such as eFlows4HPC (Enabling dynamic and Intelligent workflows in the future EuroHPC ecosystem), Climate Digital Twin (Destination Earth), or EDITO (European Digital Twin Ocean) Model-Lab.
