Keynote at Euro-Par 2022

Date: September 26, 2022
Location: Glasgow, Scotland

Domenico Talia, Professor of Computer Engineering, DIMES of the University of Calabria is delivering the keynote speech at the international conference on parallel and distributed computing, Euro-Par 2022 in Glasgow, Scotland. Exascale computing systems as the next step is the focus of Domenico’s keynote speech.

In his keynote, Domenico argues for new hardware architectures and data analysis software solutions that must process Big Data for extracting complex predictive and descriptive models. Domenico analyses both challenges and solutions to generate new hardware architectures and data solutions software. In this context, parallel applications running on Exascale systems are an optimal solution. Nevertheless, Dominico explains that parallel applications running on Exascale systems require controlling millions of threads running on a very large set of cores. Such applications need to avoid or limit synchronization, use less communication and remote memory, and handle software and hardware faults that could occur.
